i dunno about "disproves intelligent design" so much as disproves that one bishop's stupid idea that the earth is only 12,000 years old.

SUCK IT YOUNG EARTH CREATIONISTS~~!!!
-------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

i think the oldest carbon-dated skeleton is something like 6 million years old? I don't know, but it's well over 12,000 years old at any rate.

That's odd being that the half life of carbon is only 5730 years. I do not think you can carbon date anything that's 6 million years old. I am not sure how you would tell the age of an animal that is that old, as everything radioative that would be left has already decayed into something stable. -------------------- ![]() |

I would only trust carbon dating for a few thousand years because of the variance of C14 in the atmosphere. Better techniques out there, such as faith!

everyone knows that aliens genetically engineered humans and left sequences in our DNA that are tripped by certain chemicals, LSD, dimethyltrypamine (DMT), THC, mescaline etc. that reveal secret messages to us, geeze louise, you creationists and evolutionists are frickin' retarded

They wouldn't have used carbon dating for something 6 million years old, as carbon dating is only good up to 45-60k years. However, there are other forms of radiometric dating. Uranium-lead dating, for instance, can date things from 1 million to 4.5 billion years old. It wouldn't be used to directly date organic remains but it could be used in combination with stratigraphy.

i think an isotope of Nitrogen is much more stable? Or some other element found often in organic life
