POW's in Nazi camps had a 4 percent chance of not survivng the war
POW's in Japan's camps had a 30 percent chance of not survivng the war -------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

personally i think the US is becoming a pussy nation as far as controlling it's people. when something goes wrong the first thing done is introduce a law to ban what caused it. global warming is already cause by humans in the world of politics, so now we gotta have laws to control that. some dipshit gets hit by a car while crossing the street & listening to his ipod, make it illegal to listen to an ipod while crossing the street. people getting fat cause they won't stop eating fast food, ban trans-fat.

I have sympathy for the loss of life. Anytime civilians have to die in war it is horrible. However, Japan had it coming. They killed millions of chinese in cold blood, surprise attacked the United States at pearl harbor, tortured and killed thousands of American POW'S and raped nearly 20,000 chinese women at Nanking. Plus they did tons of biological and chemical weapons testing on the chinese population in the 30's.

let me clarify the sympathy statement for a sec.
of course I feel bad for those people. I'm a caring human like anyone. I love babies and puppies and kitties and old people. I've visited the nagasaki peace park and it is a very overwhelming solemn place. I do not however feel bad for "japan" and it's one of those things that happened...and as a result the world and japan was better for it. I would never let my sentimentalities get in the way of ending such a terrible war. |

....And the problem with this is? Japan is a COMPLETLEY different country today than it was 60 years ago.
