Chavez is doing nothing to help the poor besides making them totally dependent on handouts from the government. He isn't creating jobs, just more handouts. He's breeding a mindset of apathy to legitimate economic practices. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

If oil drops in price, their economy is kaput. He has some good ideals, but everyone is going to take the handouts and not the mythical proletariat.
