it stopped snowing here and is now raining again

it has to get colder than it is now to continue snowing....so we'll only see snow tonight when the sun goes down...even then there won't be enough snow to warrant the 12 inch prediction because the storm is supposedly moving out of the lubbock area saturday morning...
and yes we have snow here but very light dusting....it's just continually raining and sleeting to get snow it has to fall through continuous chilled air to maintain it's form right now it's falling and melting and refreezing -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. it is below freezing...

according to the weather map, we are currently moving between a system of sleet/freezing rain/snow and snow. well, that is the lower temperatures of this cold air mass should change our weather to just snow in the next 30 minutes.

This occurs when snow flakes falling through a small layer of warmer air in the atmosphere will begin to melt. i would think probably. a fair amount of freezing rain/sleet fell on the ground
