i know this has been asked multiple times, but i'm asking it again... opinions may have changed

what's the best blogging software to use on your own personal site? i'm talking about blogging software you host yourself... none of that xanga and blogger.com bullshit

my friend's website gets more than 10,000 hits a day, and he uses wordpress.

Wordpress or Textpattern... Definitely the best two out there. Wordpress can suck if you overload it with plugins and stuff of the like.

ok i tried both, wordpress is by far the easiest to work with

textpattern is more of a cms than blogging software and when you want a cms both dupal and joomla blow textpattern away

wordpress is good for simple blogs, if you need something more fancy try drupal or joomla

and don't even mention movabletype, what a joke

it's for lazy people who want a blog that don't feel like creating a bunch of code. allows for people to register and post comments. stores in a database. that sort of thing. so yeah. lazy people. like me.

ok so it's almost at the level of a forum kind of software? where you have to have a website setup and access to some kind of sql db?
