anyone ever lived there or been there for an extended period of time? or know anything good/bad about the area (politics aside lolollllllll)?

there's a company in rockville, maryland that i'm interested in, but i don't know anything about that part of the country. the only info i can get from the internet is that the cost of living is a bitch compared to dallas/austin/houston. cold weather is no deterrent, but the combo of $$$, traffic, and people in general are red flags.

i lived there for a few years. yes very expensive and the worst traffic in the country imo. but dupont circle, georgetown area, shopping, bars, cafes are all really nice. they have some of the biggest and coolest public parks. i really like the weather and the winters arent that rough and summers are perfect. and since living is expensive they have a lot of cheaper but still really nice restaurants. but expect everyone you ever meet to be either military or federal

avoid the ghetto in DC but thats easy enough for a white person. dont cross the bridge.

If you actually live in D.C. proper, you can only vote for token members of Congress (House) that have no real voting power like normal congressmen.
