I think the key is the last line in the article...
I do not believe that 4 Frenchies would pass up the opportunity to blow his head off and take credit for it. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Of course the USA wouldn't give the French the O.K. to blow his head off... Osama works for us and Al-Ciaduh.

Yeah, but the French never listened to us before, so what would make this any different? -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

then again, the united states had multiple opportunities to take out osama. Both during the Clinton and Dubya administrations. We knew he was in Tora Bora, yet we did not commit all of our resources to getting the pig bastard...
-------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

LOL In my opinion and with my limited knowledge of ROE, on a high value target such as this the shot is taken, there are no questions asked. Am I in the right train of thought? -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

In my opinion and with my limited knowledge of ROE, on a high value target such as this the shot is taken, there are no questions asked. Am I in the right train of thought? everything is situation-dependant, and I don't have any insight into this...but I will say that oftentimes high-value personalities require authorization/confirmation from far higher up the food chain than your company or battallion level. that bounty is for non-mil types. i.e., LCpl Schmuckatelli would not receive anything above his brokedick base-pay had he killed Bin Laden. IF...a big IF... this story holds any merit...I do not blame the frogs one bit for not taking him out. I certainly would hate to be the guy who spent the rest of his life in prison for the unauthorized "murder" of Bin Laden. what a butt-fuckin that would be! LOL. I know that sounds ridiculous, but so does granting American citizen's constitutional rights to foreign terrorists. in this day and age...I don't count anything out... |
