a guy at work here said he's heard of the safety strap breaking (or people not using it) and sending the controller flying through their TV/window/etc

next week on myth busters
at what velocity must a remote weighing approximately 3 pounds (with batteries) be flung at a standard television to break its screen? probably shot out of a canon. also, i do not think the remote weighs enough to break the strap. maybe if one were to pull on it accidentally and repeatedly while playing it would break. i throw remotes at my tv all the time and sometimes xbox controllers. |

newsflash, not all TV screens are made of glass another newsflash, learn2physics a baseball weighs less than 3 pounds... toss that a TV and see what happens. NEWSFLASH it just does not seem bloody likely. i don't imagine them hitting the tv, either. the one where the guy hit the fan seems typical. i am just trying to imagine what angle they would be throwing it at where it would hit the tv and still have enough speed to break the screen. maybe a really harsh upward or downward cast? ANOTHER NEWSFLASH someone ninja up a video, that would be a fun thing to see. it has to be better than searching youtube for police brutality videos. i looked for some videos, i guess people were not video taping when their screens were busted, but there are plenty of other videos showing people doing stupid stuff on youtube. so, i guess it was worth a search or two. oh and in more important news, a little birdie told me that stores like target/wal-mart are sitting on their wii stock until this sunday. i think i may go try to buy one or something, because i want to fail all my finals. |

ANOTHER NEWSFLASH the forum post i linked said the guy was playing the bowling game, so it'd be an underhand throw... straight at the TV. ever seen a good female softball underhand pitcher? here's a couple pics from the post since you didnt seem to bother clicking the link ![]()

yeah man, i skimmed through the link. it would just be more believable if they had a video.
you need to calm down, too. it is not that i do not believe you, it is that i require a lot of evidence. |

uh... a cracked TV and broken wii strap doesn't convince you?
i'm perfectly calm, i just think you're a dumbass for acting like it's impossible or something. google "wii broke strap" and look at the results. |

so... you think the guy broke his TV and cut the strap on his wii remote just to spite nintendo? yes, he is one of those pro ps3 people out there trying to sway the market. or maybe his tv was a change-a-tron. customers will fear for their tv's, their children and their lives. REMOTE CONTROLS OF TERROR!!!!!! paid for by the republican national committee. |
