The end of white slavery in North Africa ended just 80 years before black slavery did in America. It's not that black slavery is any more fresh, it's that there is little historical publicity of what went on in North Africa. I just think our society needs to stop babying people. Blacks keep passing on the victim mentality to their children. And honestly, the term nigger shouldn't mean anything to this generation of blacks.

the simple truth is there are other ways to deal with hecklers or talkers than having to go "there".

simply put, that is one of the most hateful of hateful words. and if your ass can't cash the checks your mouth writes, you better not say it.

I've tangled with every kind of human motherfucker god put on this planet, and I never held back on what came out of my mouth. I've said it out of heat of the moment in much more hostile situations than the laugh factory, but I am far from racist. it's merely a hateful word that gets their goat when uttered from a white guy. but then again, I'm not some hollywood asshole with a squad of bodyguards.

I don't think this is the kind o situation that warranted it, and I don't foresee his career taking a turn for the better because of it.

1. He definitely went too far. You can't be in a public forum like that and lose it, no matter what the situation is. Good comedians deal with hecklers in their own way... they ignore them, or make jokes about them which ultimately backfire the heckles and make the rest of the crowd laugh and the hecklers look stupid.

2. The word "nigger" has just as many contexts as any other word. If you use it when you're mad at a black person, in general it's a derogatory context. If you use it as slang then it's a harmless context. In today's society I'd say the latter is way more common. If I call my friend a bitch, that's one thing. If I call some lady I don't know a bitch, that's another thing. If a black person nowadays hears someone else using the word as slang towards their friend and gets upset about it, they're too damn sensitive.

For Kramer's one outburst, there are millions of other times in comedy where the word nigger was used with no repercussion and to probably a lot of laughter.

3. "cracker" is nowhere near as bad as "nigger" when used in the derogatory sense.

4. anyone who brings up slavery is a fucking idiot. there's not a black person alive today who's parent, grandparent, and probably great grandparent who was ever a slave. same thing with white people and slave owners. those black guys that heckled kramer grew up just like i did, under the same rights as me. i'm no history buff but i'm sure if you went back far enough in history you could find just about any race that's wronged another. no one seems to bitch about it and dwell on it as much as black people though.

Free speech applies to the governments ability to prosecute someone for expressing their beliefs. Clearly not the case here... This is somoeone being racist and the public being against him.


Oh and the words we say usually have attached history that make them so much more insulting than a noraml "bitch" or "fuckwad". Lack of equal rights helped to build the nature of the word being horrible. Cracker, no matter how you try to say it (trying to insult or as a joke) can NEVER hold the same meaning.

So no, none of the black people alive were slaves... but how about civil rights? How about lynchings not but 50 or 60 years ago... What does any of that matter? The word holds meaning because of its history as a word, if you can't recognize that... then say it to most blacks and see the response. Some won't care, some will get very offended... im willing to bet it leans offended though.
