There are about a billion draft bills that go through Congress every year... I see no reason to worry about this one in particular.

Reinstating the draft = political suicide

But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

Hey, heres an idea for preventing wars... have a poorely trained and under-funded military at all times. That way when some war mongering politician wants to protect our country with "war", he'll have to remember we have a worthless, angry to be there, army...

Usually when you reinstate the draft, you are not looking to deter war...

how bout some guys with cheap guns and friggin huge tanks going for the slow walk of artillery obliterating enemy territory and surrounding the city.
restrict access to said city, when people exit that city zone blast them. wait until they agree to the demands. if they take too long consider them a lost cause and level the city. a video of that with the benny hill theme would be fun. -------------------- |

I think his intentions are evil and corrupt. Let's blackmail the American people into not supporting war, it does not sound very american to me. If we want to reinstate the draft let's at least have the right intentions. In many countries, it is mandatory for all youth to serve in the military. Perhaps we should do the same thing, if we are even considering such a move. But to reinstate just to avoid war is retarded. I fucking hate the two party system.

imagine if you were dealing with troops who were forced to. terrible idea. |
