Gotta toss in my .02 for this:

Those of you arguing for "legalization"? Do you honestly want every addictive substance known to man to be legal and availble at the frequency of, let's say, tobacco?

Do you not see the possible societal ramifications of such actions? To make such dangerous drugs as meth, cocaine, heroin, acid totally legal and/or readily available would be a severely regretible action.

As for such drugs as marijuana, mescaline, mushrooms...things of that "organic" nature: I would lean more towards legalization with restrictions similar to alcohol, as well as heavy taxation. The jury is still out on my 100% stance for this though.

Overall, I feel drugs as a whole should be DECRIMINALIZED for USERS.

There is a correlation between how intellectually lacking you are and how angry and insulting you get when someone contradicts your beliefs.

Not directed at anyone in particular. Just an FYI.

All games come with disclaimers on the risks of seizures from the flashing colors as well as recommendations that players take breaks every hour or so for the sake of their eyes. They are also encouraged to play in lighted areas as opposed to dark rooms with only the monitor acting as the light source.

So there are, health risks.

I think they should be free for people.

Set up clinics where addicts can come off the streets and recieve a FREE dose under doctors supervision, that way they aren't out killing their sister to pawn her bike. Plus this would help them get off the drug.

Wouldn't solve the problem, but for people who dont want to be on them could go get the fix for free and seek help (no legal ramifications)

There is always going to be some kind of black market for harder drugs, even if such a scenario existed.

[un]realistically, the only way to get rid of them would be for a worldwide effort that was enforced where harvesting, manufacturing, and possession in any form of them resulted in being killed on site.

Obviously this is completely ridiculous and not going to happen.

So....hit up your local yuppy hang out, ask around, and get what ya need, baby !

Yeah, no one wants to go to a clinic just for the reason that it would be tracked. The authorities would know that you were an abuser of drugs. It is a good idea in principle, regulate and control addiction while at the same time attempting to halt the black market for drugs. At the same time, it would seem hypocritical for authorities to do such a thing. It is a good idea though...

Only during the latter half of our lifetime would this country even give serious consideration to the legalization of weed. They can't stand to admit to losing the "war on drugs." It would reflect too poorly.

However, if the majority of people who truly remember that "war" are dead, its not so bad !

Give it another ~30 years !
