A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

why would anyone want to be tied to anything? drinking, smoking, gambling, weed, dependence on someone. all the same thing

I don't need any research to tell me that pot makes you lazy. Everyone I know that smokes pot, which is pretty much everyone is a lazy ass. It takes them a couple of hours to do anything. They have to like sit around and think about doing something for like 20 minutes, then start doing it.

But to believe it across the board ?

I have friends who do nothing but get high these days. They are zombies, staring into space, speaking slowly, and waiting for the next chance to get high. It's ridiculous for how "harmless" we perceive pot to be. You'd expect that kind of zombification from a "harder" drug.

But also, there are plenty of people I've known who smoke regularly and they aren't burnouts.

Drugs have different effects on people. Not everybody sits on the couch and watches Aqua Teen Hunger Force after lighting up.

It's people's personal responsibility (or lack thereof) that dictates if they continue to use something that hurts them, or makes them useless etc.

Being tied to anything is bad, but that is human nature. Some people are depended on food, tv, the computer, etc.

I need to quit smoking cigarettes but I still have not. I know it is bad for my health and a waste of money but I still buy them. As for weed, I would not say I am dependent. I have not smoked habitually in a while and have not purchased any in over a month.

Yeah that is my main point. It depends on the person.

"I got drunk once and didn't think much of it."

think of drinking like sex.

the first time is always awkward and wierd. as you do it more often you get better at it and learn to enjoy it more. but moderation is everything.

does the same hold true to sex with passed out people?

because that just feels akward.

its not the same as 'dick in the fridge' necrophilia.

they are all warm and squishy and sometimes pukey.

So like what do you do for pleasure and to kill the pain since sex, drugs and rock & roll are out of the question...
