I didnt initiate that. Just because I have an opposing viewpoint does not mean that I instigated it. Somebody felt the thread was starting to get off topic so they split it... Reason number 4 billion why I think splitting threads is stupid.
If Bob Knight was such an outstanding member of society, there wouldn't be so much controversy over him and his actions. |

In my mind he did nothing wrong and has not done anything wrong while at Tech. The incident with the chancellor was blown out of proportion as well. We are human, we get in arguments. He's a coach and as such deserves the attention and respect of his players.

It's him, plain and simple. He is rough and sometimes he screws up but you know what, he wins. by the way, what exactly do graduation rates have to do with coaching ability?
if anything, it would seem the higher the graduation rate, the worse the coach is -------------------- only here to talk sports occationally

So i believe i was talking of HIS CAREER. I think the media is giving this way too much attention. Should he have done that? Probably not, just because of the history. If it were any coach other than Knight, it wouldn't get nearly the media attention. I've been to several college workouts for some big name men and women's basketball programs and I've seen much worse.
I agree with Cathryn though, this is nothing compared to high school days. |
