McCain's not really a leftist, he's more of a moderate. In the long run, centrism is what gets votes and I think the Republicans will realize that. Either that or they'll be assholes and vote for Mitt Romney in the primary. I know he's not a leftist. His views are like mine (which is probably why I like him), but they are far enough left for the right not to like him. They'll vote Romney in and they'll lose the '08 race. That's my prediction. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

I doubt Giuliani would win the primary. He's a RINO and he's definately too far left to be the republican candidate.

I have to disagree. -------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Too far to the left? I have to disagree. I'd say Giuliani's more liberal than conservative. As trespass pointed out, he's anti-death penalty, pro-choice, pro gun control, and pro gay marriage. I'd vote for him, but I doubt most of the Republican party would. But I could be wrong. He does appear to be doing fairly well in early polls, so there might be a chance he'd attract enough Republican moderates to get nominated. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! McCain is a RINO too, ya know. Not to the degree Giuliani is. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! how so? Each party has their designated front runner. The media usually covers their activities more than they do any other candidate. I haven't seen Giuliani or heard from him in a good while. Plus, the GOP could possibly nominate a moderate like McCain but Giuliani is too far left to get any real support. My predictions for 2008: Democratic Front Runners Clinton Edwards Gore Possibilities Obama Biden John Kerry Republican Front Runners Allen Giuliani McCain (would be the oldest president ever elected at 72) Possibilities Pataki Jeb Bush Santorum Condie Rice -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. As usual, the Democratic front runners are all douchebags. Why can't some level headed democrats run for candidacy? Hah. Feels strange saying level headed democrat.
Republican front runners look more promising but all "maybes". It isn't clear who will be running. God forbid that Jeb Bush run for president. I would have to leave America if the Bush Trifecta ruled the nation. Allen is kind of a douche but the best middle ground Republican the GOP's got. Santorum is ULTRA CONSERVATIVE and we all know how much the last one left a sour taste in our mouths. It's a good toss up between Obama and McCain for me. Giuliani if McCain doesn't run and he does. Please do not elect Hillary Clinton. Witches are not allowed in the presidency. -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. I still plan on forming a replacement party to take the spot of one of the parties. Like the Wigs were replaced back in the day (by democrats?).
Sadly both parties suck so much right now that i can't choose which needs to be destroyed and rebuilt. |
