I get shit like this spammed to me all the time....what is even the point of this email?

the point is to get you to reply saying, "what the hell??" then they know the email address exists

the point is to get you to reply saying, "what the hell??" then they know the email address exists The simple fact that it doesn't bounce means the e-mail exists... They don't even need to reply. I have my mail server setup so that if anything comes in flagged as spam it bounces immediately. This doesn't always work because the MX entries may be different but it does work most of the time. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

what program do you use to do that? I wrote a bash script that checks SpamAssassin flags and weights. Most spam is just to harvest e-mail addresses to sell. A ton of random messages are sent out to generated addresses and if an error comes back then they know the e-mail does not exist.
