1. Whats the best way to remove all of this loose skin i've been accumulating from losing weight (NOT RUNNING, DO NOT HAVE TIME OR PATIENCE)

2. All this working out is making me ravenously hungry all the fucking time, what are some decently healthy foods that will fill me up?

I'm going to make a few postulations on both topics:

1. Stretching?

2. Breads?

If you're getting a lot of loose skin and you're hungry a lot, it sounds like you're losing weight too fast. It's usually reccommended that you lose about 2 lbs a week.

As far as foods are concerned, you probably just need to increase the portion size of the foods you're already eating. Student Health Services does have a dietician you can see, so you might try that as well. She'll be able to help you balance your diet out and find what's missing.

Really, only time (or surgery) will tighten the loose skin. As Pebkac said, try not to lose weight so quickly, as skin usually tightens as you go if you're losing at a good rate. If course, this is coming from someone who lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks, so what do I know...

Found this:

QUOTE
When someone are overweight, the skin stretches to accommodate the increased volume of weight. After weight loss, the skin sometimes fails to tighten back, and becomes loose, hangs or sags. It often acts as a reminder of the weight you once had.

Unfortunately, this may be difficult if not impossible to remove through normal exercise or dieting. If you are young enough, the loose skin may regain some of it's elasticity. If you are older (and overweight for a long time prior to losing weight) the loose skin is likely to remain.

Skin Care

Start by exfoliating your skin daily in the shower. The outer layer of your skin is made up of old, dried, dead cells. Your skin is a pretty low-maintenance and takes care of the removal of dead skin cells all on its own. But, when you get a little older this process of natural exfoliation begins to slow down.

Exfoliating will help the skins circulation and the balance of skin growth. Then apply a cream such as Thiomuplex Cream to tighten the skin.

How much your skin will tighten depends on your age, length of time the skin was stretched and how much it was stretched, how much weight you lost (and to some degree how fast you lost it), the amount of elastin in your skin, and genetics.

Ingredients To Look For

Yeast Extract, Aloe Vera Extract and Soy Protein. These tighten the skin, induces collagen and elastin production and reinforces the natural skin defense system. Hyaluronic acid restores water to aged skin and is naturally found in our skin and depleted over time.

It Takes Time

The loose skin will get tighter as your body fat gets lower. Over time the skin gradually tightens up, at least partially, after a one or two year period where the weight loss is maintained and exercise continued.

This should not be a problem if you make this a lifestyle and not a diet.

Change Body Composition

This means working on the ratio of your body fat to lean body mass. You should gain muscle to replace some of those lost pounds while preventing loss of lean body mass when dieting - This will dramatically improve loose skin from appearing. Also, loose skin is one thing, but still having body fat is another.

This is important to getting tighter skin. Be honest with yourself and do that by taking your body fat measurement. This can be done with skin fold calipers or a variety of other devices or procedures.

Calipers might not be the best method if you have large folds of loose skin. Last but not least, only after you reach your ultimate body fat percentage goal, you should give thought to surgery.

Surgery

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty): This surgery can accomplish things that you cannot do own your own. It can give you a flat stomach by tightening your inner girdle.

It also removes loose skin of your lower abdomen and tightens the skin of your upper abdomen. It can also remove nearly all the fat of your lower abdomen as well as the stretch marks.

QUOTE
Unfortunately, many people who have issues with loose skin really don't have extra loose skin ... they have more fat to lose. There is a real easy way to determine this. Skin is, by itself, only a fraction of an inch thick (ever heard the expression, can't pinch an inch?) so when you pick up this "loose skin" it should be thin and you can pinch it to the size of a thick piece of paper.

If you can grab anything more than a fraction of an inch, then what you have is not loose skin. You have loose skin with fat underneath it (subcutaneous fat). You still have fat to lose. As you burn that fat, the skin will begin to shrink to your body. Skin is elastic and is fully replaced over time. The keys are to follow proper nutrition (you need healthy fats and certain vitamins for the skin to replenish itself) and skin care (the right skin care products actually improve the elasticity of the skin and help it to heal faster).

The two pounds a week is from that fact that fat cells also contain toxic compounds that are released into the bloodstream, and the body can only process soo much before bad reactions happen. How much are you loosing on average greg? And I don't think you were ever fat enough to have skin hanging by itself.

there's bound to be some kind of % though... for a 110 lb chick to lose 10 lbs in a week, yeah that seems like it'd have some nasty side effects, but for some dude that weighs 450 lbs to lose 5-10 lbs in a week I wouldn't guess it'd have any real side effects.

I could be wrong but I know people that big lose that much weight all the time.

It depends on how much your body can process and your body weight depending on the substance. If its metabolite goes stright to the liver, then the LD50 for everyone is about the same for everyone. If its a substance that is diffuesed throughout the body, alcohol, then body weight will determine the LD50. I know there are lots of chemicals stored in body fat. Just be safe!
