well hopefully hbo goes through with it. People should at least know the downfalls of the machines so they can demand the integrity that this country deserves. Too bad its on hbo instead of something more people can watch.

why doesn't the machine print a paper ticket that you check for verification and drop in a ballot box incase a recount is needed

well the real question is whether or not this is a documentary or is it a dramatic attempt to scare people away from voting?
being that the name of the show is "Hacking Democracy" I would guess the latter. |

with impala being a computer person i'm still surprised he doesn't see the pitfalls of electronic voting machines, which are basically PCs with an access database

Banks, ATMs, the stock exchange, air traffic control, utility grids, etc, are all just computers with software on them. It's only natural that voting moves this direction too. Will it be pefect at first? no. Will there be people that try to hack it? yes. Will we count paper ballots forever? Hell no. |

Yeah, it does not seem like it would be that hard to make a paper copy for secure records. That would clear up most of the problems.
