seriously the mil is just a slice of society. you have rednecks, gangbangers, bookworms, fags, libs, etc. so naturally you'll have extremely bright people, as well as the marginally retarded. so his blanket statement is pretty stupid. however, I just wish bush would stfu as well. in retort to kerry's comment I saw him say "the people in the military are plenty smart!" GOD just shut up! he sounded like total hick. |

What's worse is that his spokesperson said that he deviated from the script and was supposed to say:

I enjoy this whole debacle because of how the Republican voice comes back with the "every soldier is a valiant hero" stance.

I just think his comment was asinine no matter which way he meant it. It's not that we need to roll out the red carpet for soldiers but I think that we owe some respect to each other and that includes soldiers.
