so ok think about photographers for time, natl geographic, etc...dont those acts make pretty good back? help the world by exposing what may be happening in other countries or our own?

only thing about that gig...I'd definately have an mp5 broken down in my camera bag...

Yes. Photographers for big time publications make big time bank. However, it's very hard to get your foot in the door and now a lot of these places are hiring freelancers instead of keeping photographers on staff.

I think exposing some of the things we ignore in both our own country and in others would be great. Yeah, I may carry a piece if I did end up doing that.

When you say design video games, do you mean write code for game engines, be an artist, or just conceptually come up with games then have other people do all the work? laugh.gif

Typically, you start at the bottom and move up.

Since this is fantasy I'd like to come up with the conception and have others program and draw it.

I would like to be given a quarry of rocks and a sledgehammer and be told to break them all down to gravel with only the sledgehammer.

Or travel around the world and eat weird shit as food critic or tv show host or something.

I really enjoy racing and would do it as a full time job. Rally or F1 where I get to travel around the world. I haven't run a course in years, so for now, autoxing will just be a hobby.

Something I'd do if I could get paid enough for it would be photography. Or, I'd go back to working @ theFruit™.

Something I'd do if money wasn't an issue: grease monkey. or teach martial arts back home.

There is absolutely no one career I could choose. I'd rotate through :

Fireman
Policeman
Assassin (women and children included)
IT Project Manager
Artificial Intelligence Researcher for Anthropomorphic Robotics
Extreme Pornography Director
Gigolo
Bookie
Daycare Attendant
Psychologist
Druglord

I could deal with that.

cryptozoologist - make money researching all kinds of crazy animals that might exist

giant robots - right now they suck. any improvements are big steps.

food fetish porn site - dunno if that needs much explination. people like food, people like sex. it all sells.

again, something ive been thinking a lot about lately seeing as how soon i might actually have the opportunity to really work for the job and not the money. im having a horrible time thinking about if i could do anything for the rest of my life and not worry about money what would it be. i guess the things i like doing i can always find a reason that i couldnt do them the rest of my life.

lately ive been really interested in cake decorating. but i dont think that once i learned all the advanced stuff i would want to do it as an occupation. same thing with the culinary stuff - i love to cook, but only when im in the mood and for what i want to make, so the whole restaurant thing prolly wouldnt work out for me either. id like to take a few cake decorating classes, but really only to sharpen my skills so i can make stuff for like friends and family. though i have a friend with a cake decorating business and she seems to love it, so who knows.

music would be neat to get into. traveling with a band as they toured the us. but that lifestyle isnt really what i want because it wouldnt allow me to start a family. i love live music and concerts but i dont want to do bitch roadie work and theres not a whole lot i could do in a stationary location unless i did promotions for a recording label or something. that might be a good compromise because id be in one city but still getting to mingle with the musicians too.

id like to work with animals but not as a vet. i mean yeah id love to help cure their problems, but the whole medical arena just isnt my thing. i dont really want to work at a pet store because i absolutely hate the idea of selling pets when so many are waiting to be adopted. plus i dont want to make a career out of cleaning up dog crap. maybe an animal behaviorist/trainer, but not if it got too much into the science side of it. goes back to the medical stuff, just not interested in science.

i guess since i want to start a family i could do the whole housewife thing and just raise the children. but i didnt go to school for 3.5 years and spend my parents money so i could bear children and make sandwiches.

its really driving me nuts because pr is such a broad field and theres so much i can do with my degree. it almost makes it harder because here i am going ok i dont want to work for an agency, i dont want to do political campaigns and i dont really want to do nonprofit. theres still a lot open but im just not finding the job ops anywhere. maybe ill just work at united the rest of my life.

also, im a firm believer in changing careers. who says at 21 i have to choose my job for the rest of my life? thats gonna be a miserable 40 years. best to find something i love now and then when the passion wears off find something else to focus on. im not looking to be rich and im not looking for a rich man to marry. i just want to have enough to afford what we want (nothing extravagant) but i dont want the money to come at the expense of happiness.
