here's an idea: how about a stickied thread (in off topic, since its the most active forum) explaining each mod decision. i believe a WOW thread was deleted or merged a few weeks ago? just add a note to the explanationthread stating "new WOW thread moved to entertainment and merged with existing WOW thread"
i knew why it was moved, since jessica is my gf. but im sure most people had no idea and a few got pissed off. a simple note explaining why im sure would shut most people up. most of the time people get mad cause no explanation is given. as to why their thread or post was moved/deleted -------------------- only here to talk sports occationally

Maybe not a bad idea... we have a similar thread in the mods-only forum, but having something like that publically available might quiet some people.

Oh, Internet.
Nobody really comes here expecting up to date CNN news quality reporting here, i don't really give a shit if he does or does not post a link. Like Hodge said before just take his articles with less seriousness than other articles or if you're feeling really OCD you can just post a link for him. And i kinda agree that we dont need all of these mods. Hell, i'll give away my modship if it means we go back to having just lance and maybe one or two people |

Doctor, my head. if the objective is to make the boards a better place, why not? i know that a mod's job description means fixing board problems, but nothing is fixed in the grand scheme of things if no one is following the new rules. it just means the board is more heavily moderated, and mods have to do more additional work that could easily be avoided in the first place. why not make the general posters accountable for their actions? fixing the problems as they happen is not a long term solution, eliminating the problems before they happen is -------------------- only here to talk sports occationally

ok first of all...to the people who are saying these boards shouldnt be SFW anyway.. look, boards change, like the members on them. when this board first started a few years ago, mostly ALL of us were students (mainly younger undergrads). now look. many of us have graduated, with the rest in their latter undergrad studies and grad studies. the membership on this board has aged dramaticallay, and because of that, MANY more people have jobs and view this site at work. that's just common sense.
on the mods.. yeah most of us don't really even do much. i made a rules thread in NPR and havent really done anything else. i wouldnt care if we just had a few global mods, and i actually kind of like what Will said about warnings. we used to have those with RAR because i remember i actually got warned once. having things like that actually prevents douchebags and trolls from being pests. but either way its not up to me, and i dont care all that much. -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE (Throwdown @ Mar 3 2006, 12:39 PM) i probably shouldnt be commenting, since i honestly havent read all the damn rules of each forum (who has?). it seems mods are way too move and delete happy - and yes, this includes my girlfriend, who i got pissed at for deleting one of my posts. mods have already gotten in turf wars over other mods moving stuff in and out of their forums. hmm you never told me it pissed you off. In fact, you posted the same thing several times to cause me work, silly boy. I deleted everything to close that thread and I created another thread about the rules that could be spammed in. I only deleted at the beginning and I told people I was deleting for practice to know how. Since then, I havent touched A THING. It will continue to remain that way. NOTHING will be touched in LRAR by me. I dont care much whether NSFW pics are linked because I change my board settings to not show avatars, sigs, and pics when Im at work or visiting home. Should they be linked? yeah but dont bitch if you are at work and browsing it. just change the settings. Low's threads: leave them alone if they are in entertainment or off topic and there is no source. I cant stand his threads so I dont read them...as simple as that. 21 TTULow2 2 Will 1 koreanp1e 1 JRock 1 Dogmeat 1 nickluto I can kind of see where the problem lies. and as far as the B/S/T forum goes, all of done is remove comments that don't have to do with the product being sold. -------------------- Don't sweat the petty, pet the sweaty.
