didn't say it wasn't. but not good enough to up and relocate there and still pay out the yin-yang for living. plus UT trustafarian types that hang out get on my nerves.

if I'm gonna pay more than I do in Dallas, it's going to be in SD, Boston, NYC, etc.

so, i was offered a job and get to choose whether i go to san antonio or phoenix. any thoughts?

keep in mind that i hate texas, but i guess san antonio isn't that bad. the cost of living in phoenix is much higher, but the same job in that city pays $3k more.

Since the salary is only a $3k difference don't use that in the decision process. Visit both cities and move to the one you like most, or pick the job/company you think you would like most.

I love Arizona... when I was over there at Ft. Huachuca (in the middle of the desert) for security hardening Nortel software the state was beautiful. It was actually pretty cool outside... not to hot, gorgeous scenery, etc. I Just made it to Tucson and not Phoneix but I imagine it's much of the same. Don't move out there if you're gonna get homesick though and miss your family.

San Antonio is a part of Mexico, you need a passport before entering the city. Certain parts are bad, but certain parts are alright too.

why? i don't really know anything about the city.

Coming from a predominately hispanic city myself, I will say that at first its exciting and cool but it gets old really fast. Every event that takes place has something to do with Mexican culture...kind of annoying. The city is undergoing a TON of road construction which makes driving around a royal pain in the ass. People in the right lane drive 30 and people in the left lane drive 80 which makes entering the freeway and changing lanes very difficult and dangerous. The lanes are narrow because of construction.... just barely wide enough for vehicles and there is no breathing room. This is how it is on both I-10 and Loop 410 which are the two main highways there. Downtown is fun and exciting but there are a lot of kids who run around pickpocketing. Dont be surprised to see like 15 kids in a group ages 6-12 walking down the street smoking cigarettes. Every time I have been there, something creepy has happened. One time I was walking on the Riverwalk and there were 2 guys laying down on the steps staring up girls' skirts. Its just a raunchy city like that.... A lot of parts look rundown. Some parts are nice.

that's good to know about san antonio; i've only seen the riverwalk area, which i guess isn't a good view of the whole city. i know the extra $$ for going to phoenix isn't a decision-maker difference, but it helps. i'm willing to go pretty much anywhere, and getting away from the family actually has a lot to do with that, haha.

i still have until i graduate (may) to really decide what i'm going to do, this was just the first offer.
