So my clutch pedal sticks ('97 Mazda 626) when I push it in. I've been told to check "the fluid" and/or the cable. I didn't see a spot for fluid so I'm assuming I have a cable clutch pedal. I'll give it a check out but really, I know less about cars, than basically anyone in the world.

So if someone would please recommend a good place to send it or even tell me where not to go, that would be much obliged.

I usually take mine to Daltons. They're a little on the pricey side, but they do good work and they don't screw you over. Plus, they also give student discounts.

BTW, welcome to the boards! Whenever Jessica or Dogmeat post something, just smile and nod.

I don't know where to take or not take but I do have a suggestion:

If it is cable and not hydraulic, look in a Haynes or Chilton's manual for where to tighten the cable. What you're looking for is the location of a wingnut on a rod somewhere that should be reachable from just under the hood. A couple of turns should fix it.

*Google tells me someone sells a cable kit for the 97 626, so it may be a cable clutch.

Push your car over a cliff and start over. Cars hate you....

A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

Sexton automotive. 19th street on the way to Levelland (its like 7500ish 19th). I actually took my car to the dealership today for an estimate and the same price for the part at both places was 150 cheaper when you factor in labor at Sexton. Someone on the boards actually referred me there, and now I'm passing on that word of mouth smile.gif

Most clutches use brake fluid, some are dry Hieu knows more about cars than me though. On my motorcycle I had to change the clutch cable becuase it was wearing down. These cables are cheap and easy to install.
