I'm watching Dateline NBC right now... they're doing a segment on sexual predators... something is really bugging me here. Here's the situation:
Cops + Dateline set up inside a nice house. The cops get online and start chatting with guys, posing as 13 year old girls wanting to have sex. They invite the guy over, have an 18 year old girl posing as the 13 year old, and this girl flirts with them when they get there until Dateline pops in, embarasses the guy, then the cops arrest the guy (who is 28). WTF!?! Now I'm not condoning 28 year olds having sex with 13 year olds, but this is bullshit... the guy never did anything illegal. It's still on NBC right now. |

i thought what was bullshit is when they let the guy go outside and then the cops come in and tackle the mofo. instead of having the PD walk in to make the arrest, they let him walk outside, while the cops hide in the bushes/trees, then come sprinting out and tackle them. and the cops wait to get a runnign start too, it's not liek they're waiting right outside the door either -------------------- |

well it just pisses me off... these guys they arrested never had any contact with a 13 year old, and yet that's what they're being arrested for. besides, even if it was real, it sounded like those officers really laid it on thick in their little "chats". these guys probably thought it was too good to be true and hence the only reason they went. i mean that one with the older doctor guy, he kept saying the "girl" was absolutely begging him to come over. again i'm not saying i condone older men meeting up and having sex with 13 year olds, but maybe if these slut bitches were raised right, they wouldn't be begging older men for sex online.

Actually, in most states, you could have criminal charges pressed against you if you send illicit messages to anyone representing to be a minor from their state even if they're not a minor or not really even living in that state.

there are a lot of situations to which entrapment applies
"ENTRAPMENT - A person is 'entrapped' when he is induced or persuaded by law enforcement officers or their agents to commit a crime that he had no previous intent to commit; and the law as a matter of policy forbids conviction in such a case." this goes into impalas idea that the girl/cop being really illicit will get a man who had no prior experience doing this and otherwise wouldnt have id think a good lawyer would be able to put a stop to this at least in a few cases. but i understand america loves watching criminals too much. and not many people want to look like they are on a perverts side -------------------- Little monkeys making money

I am split on this show. When I first saw it my response was anger, because these guys had not committed any crime. I am opposed to these sort of tactics by pigs, because no crim is actually committed only the threat of crime. At the same time, these guys def. had intent and knew what they were going to do and have probably done it in the past....

For these guys they catch, the doctors, managers, marines, etc., they are all caught doing something they know is wrong. Not one of them sits there stunned saying, oh? should i not have done that? but she asked me to?!!
