It is ok to prosecute war criminals as long as they are not presidents of the United States...
-------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

So does anyone here know exactly what they are doing to these prisoners? I am curious to know what they are calling torture. And until I know this, I don't think I can form an opinion on the subject.

What then, it's all duckies and cuter duckies? It's ok, he may have gotten some improtant information, even if hundreds of innocent people went through hell. QUOTE (impala454 @ Oct 4 2006, 03:58 PM) well then i supposed this is a country of fascist conservative pigs, considering he was elected. Again, I was using sarcasm and mocking the notion that everyone who does not support Bush is some how a hippie. In my mind a rational person cant make excuses for torture. In another thread the same people aruging here spoke about invading Iraq as an means to take Saddam out of power... for torturing people.
Can you rationalize his torturing? I bet you will say no. What if he suspected them of being anti established government (werent most of them?). He can't do that but our president can. What is the difference between the two? The Iraq government was "bad" and ours is "good"? The argument of Saddam did this to his own people we are doing it to someone elses just isnt right to me. Our morals and beliefs in human rights extend out to another country but not for ourselves? The ability for a government official to be able to pardon themself is a horrible loophole in the justice system. Think of how this will trickle down and don't be ignorant and say people won't try. Courts are hugely influenced by precident, take a law class. That is in definition putting yourself above the law. Even if you DIDNT do anything wrong there is a system of checks and balances in which our democracy works and you shouldnt be able to circumvent that. -------------------- Little monkeys making money
