That's right. The same group that pushed for a constitutional amendment against gay marriage is all of a sudden worried about looking anti-gay. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! QUOTE (pebkac @ Oct 2 2006, 08:48 PM) http://mediamatters.org/items/200610010003 That's right. The same group that pushed for a constitutional amendment against gay marriage is all of a sudden worried about looking anti-gay. QUOTE GINGRICH: Because it was a male-male relationship. And they had no -- there was no proof, there was nothing that I know of in that initial round that would have led you to say in a normal circumstance that this is a predatory person. I have heard from several different news sources that rumors of this guys homosexuality have spread around Washington for years. So how is Gengrich a dumbass here? He's exactly right, if they would have aggresivley gone after the guy without any proof they would have most certainly been accused as going on some intra-party gay witch hunt or something. My understanding of this is that not all of this guy's communications with the congressional page were lewd, but the most recent ones were, and they really didn't have any time to react to it before the media got ahold of it. I just fail to see how Gengrich's comments make him a "dumbass" in this situation. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

I just fail to see how Gengrich's comments make him a "dumbass" in this situation. 1) Because he's implying that the Republican party's political goals are higher than stopping a pedophile. 2) Because he's saying that the same party that sponsored the Federal Marriage Amendment and criticized the Supreme Court for Lawrence v. Texas is all of a sudden afraid of being seen as being anti-gay. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! according to Gingrich:
QUOTE the actual notes were relatively innocuous, there was nothing sexual in those notes. but you're calling the guy a pedophile? unless you see the actual notes that were written how can you decide either way? and either way how the hell does any of what he said imply "that the Republican party's political goals are higher than stopping a pedophile."??? Gingrich was dead right. If they'd removed Foley from his position for having a relationship with another male, gays all over would have screamed discrimmination. |
