This punishment can be remitted, in whole or in part, by the performance of indulgences, which include good works, praying the rosary, reading scripture, etc. etc. Granting of indulgences in return for monetary contributions was what prompted Martin Luther to write his 95 theses, but I don't believe that the sale of indulgences is practiced anymore. She can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the differences (other than the whole Papal thing) it's basically, Lutheran's believe in faith alone whereas Catholics believe in Faith and Goodwork.
Her thoughts on this is it really doesn't matter. If you have faith, then you will be driven to do goodworks anyway. --------------------  |

 i hoped i could spout off some opinionated bullshit and get a good ol' fashioned techsans flamefest going, but my dreams have been crushed the only real reason I know catholicism and christianity are different is because one practices the molesterizationiasis of chil'uns i think this exact topic was debated once already.... maybe that was before the forums were wiped what was the question again? |
