this whole discussion is silly and politics and voting 101

great way to win a debate. laugh.gif

He's not necessarily alienating any electorate. People need to understand that the media is a playing a BIG roll in spinning this.

Anyone ever heard of sarcasm?
Anyone ever heard of a joke?

If people actually went out and did more research on a candidate besides what the first link on Yahoo tells you, then the electorate would be more educated and not so easily swayed by biased campaign ads and major media outlets.

Have your own damn mind about this, people.

when it comes down to it he needs to make friends and make alliances. he needs to be able to speak with people and get them to allign themselves alongside him and what he believes in/policies he wants to make.
in everything ive heard him say and suggest he just can't do that. that is why experience in being a stupid politician comes in handy. you know how to work with everyone

But WHY most this be the only mold in which the American political system must operate?

are you suggesting some sort of dictatorship? of course a politician has to find compromises, persuade people that what he wants to do is best

alex people like that dont stay in mainstream politics for long for obvious reasons.  your point is completely moot.  kinky wants to be governor therefore he cant offend people.  politicians cant rail on and make derogatory remarks about their voters.  they wont get votes for again obvious reasons.  i can understand why a black person wouldnt want to vote for a dude that suggested black people are all thugs and crackheads.  youd have to be an ignorant careless voter to do otherwise.
a politician is suppose to work for the people, work for equality, and most importantly WITH the people.  he cant go about being a "divider"
this whole discussion is silly and politics and voting 101

yes a politician is supposed to work for the people and equality

kinky saying that katrina refugees are crackheads doesn't make him fucking racist

at least his comment had truth to it

EDIT: And it just so happened that the refugees were black. What if people had to displace from North Dakota because a massive glacier magically forms. We'd all be talking about how northeners smell like cheese.

COME ON!

AND MY POINT...IS THAT I'M GODDAMN TIRED....OF SPINELESS GOOD FOR NOTHING RETARDS GETTING ELECTED INTO HIGH POSITIONS AND DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO FIX WHAT ALL THEIR PREDECESSORS FUCKED

I'm not talking about radical jesus loving change. Or the other extremes.

We need a radical movement in our government to make things better for the middle ground. The folks on the fence. The people who sound right on both sides of the issue.

I wish I were voting in Texas this year. The NM political scene is nothing but mud-flinging back and forth.

that can't happen, though. the red politician does something and the blue people freak out. the blue politician does something and the red people freak out.

there is no middle ground. there are always going to be enough people on both sides that are not willing to compromise and are going to fuck everything up.

it's not the idea of kinky being governor

it's the idea of an idependent party taking office....people who don't like the extreme platforms

the shit slinging, the lobbyist cock diddling....

it's getting REAL OLD, REAL FAST

i like to think there are enough people in the middle ground or maybe enough migrating to that area

i have nothing against independent canidates and if i thought kinky was a good one i wouldnt have a problem voting for him. but this thread is about kinky so thats what ive been talking about.
the last presidential election sort of started out trying to make itself the election for the people, the straying away from cookie cutter historical party platforms. But that itself becomes an extreme platform and a silly one at that.
At this time there are extreme issues that have extreme sides. The people have really strong ideas about what needs to happen, stay the same, or change. In that kind of political environment a canidate who straddles fences isnt going to work. And no one likes a fence stradler in the first place.

edit: you dont vote for Kinky because he is an independent canidate. You vote for the politican.

Go Chris Bell

I may end up voting for Chris Bell. I just don't want Perry to win because no one can agree on anyone to replace him.

Where did I suggest we need a dictatorship, Cathryn? Please show me where I said anything pertaining to that.

I said that this typical politician/special-interest alliance thing is not the only way democracy has to operate.

Yes, I have researched Chris Bell. I've looked into every candidate because I am ridiculously passionate about politics/government in the state of Texas. I happen to prefer the INDEPENDENT views (hey, fancy that) held by Kinky. I also enjoy many of his ideas that I think have a potential of passing.
