I'm ordering my invitations online right now and I know the Commencement is on May 13th...THE DAY BEFORE MOTHERS DAY.. which kinda sucks... but does anyone know what time the commencement is for a Mass Comm student? Is it true there are two ceremonies...one at 11 and one at 1?

I absolutley gaurentee you that the ceremony when I graduate college won't even be a tenth as bad as it was when I graduated highschool.

For crying out loud, they were so desparate for a "guest speaker" at my graduatiion they hired a former miss america contestent (note: not winner, just contestent) to speak and all she fucking did was stand up there make stupid jokes then try and get everyone to do the hokey-pokey.

i had 2 graduations in high school. the first was held outside, and we had a tornado warning, in which the principal told us all to stand up, move our tassles and leave. everyone got so pissed at him that they held a 2nd ceremony indoors a couple weeks later

Well you walk up there and shake hands with your dean and whatnot, but they don't actually give you the diploma there. After graduation you have to trek back to your college's main office to get it. I had to wait a couple of weeks to get mine, actually, because they had to reprint it because my final semester's GPA bumped me up to summa cum laude.

I don't remember exactly how long it was, because it was over a year ago (December '04). Probably closer to 3 hours, though. That time isn't just for the guest speakers and name-calling, though. You have to show up before the actual graduation time and go to the room where they line you all up in order by college and name and you sign stupid cards with your name, degree, and honors (if applicable), yadda yadda. That's probably about half an hour of it.
