DEATH TO ....something?

I am assuming TTU has sports medicine people or whoever that can take a look at a possible lower back problem I have and what I am guessing are starting to be problems with my knees?

I screwed my back up snowmobiling last winter, and I thought it was fine for awhile, but now it's at the point I can't even lift a keg of beer up sad.gif ..

And, my knees are seeming to be fucked up too .... I have to support myself with my hands on my knees even getting up from a couch or getting out of my computer chair these days sad.gif

Also, does anyone know of any *cringe I hate this word* suppliment or something (legal) that aids in joint tissue repairing itself or something?

Tech has sports medicine, yes...but its only open to student athletes.

There should be a sports medicine clinic between UMC and TTUHSC.

Go to a supplement store and get Glucosamine, MSM, Hyaluronic Acid, and Chondroitin.

Most brands combine Glucosamine + Chondroitin and Hyalauronic Acid + MSM in one pill so you'll only have to buy two supplements to get all four.

I used a Glucosamine supplement and Hyaluronic Acid + MSM supplement to help heal an overuse injury in my knee, worked great. Never tried Chondroitin but most people swear by it.

You can find all these in the joint health aisle.

I will give that a try.

Are there any side effects of these .... IE, are they "banned substances" or anything? smile.gif

you have to rest the joint and not put weight on it, takes about 2-3 months to heal completely, and then you have to be extra careful not to injure it again or it'll be even worse

micro-tears, tendontiis, etc. can be very annoying

the doctor i went to basically just told me to stay off my knee and take aleve, never even mentioned the types of supplements i could take... had to research that all myself

i had to quit jogging for 2 months, you're gonna have to let your injury heal dude

i don't know what exactly is wrong with your kneeds but you might want to look into some type of knee brace

http://www.mcdavidinc.com/brace/prods/414.htm

that one helped my pateller tendonitis heal quickly and i was back to jogging in no time with that brace + supplements

they have different braces depending on your injury

those cho-pat things are gay, though, because you'll become totally dependent on it after about 2 weeks.

just work out your upper body for 6-8 weeks and then try to ease back into running or lifting lower
