What do you take? How much and when?

I take:

1. Ultimate Nutrition's whey isolate protein powder.
2. Some BCAAs (branched chain amino acids) from Optimum Nutrition pre/post workout for muscle recovery.
3. L-Glutamine for muscle recovery.

I've seen some amazing gains in the past few weeks just using these plain jane supplements. I try to avoid all the fancy flavored shit with additives like no-xplode, xceed, etc.

I might however try out some creatine in a few weeks.

All you need is a good whey protein and a good multivitamin.

Creatine and all that other stuff will make you look bigger and may help with some gains, but it's all going to be lost as soon as you stop taking it.

Yeah I know, that's why I don't take any of that fancy stuff.

All the BCAAs and L-Glutamine do is help you restore glycogen and get out of a catabolic state.

dont bother with creatine. all it does it swell the muscles with water taking it away from where your body normally needs it. so then drink more water or watch those kidneys lock up.

stick with what you are rolling with. it will do the trick.

When I took Creatine I felt that it helped a bit. We have natural amounts of creatine in our bodies that help with ATP production from ADP in the lack of oxygen. The only problem is that it degrades quickly and the body does not put the same amount in as a suppliment. I took 10 g daily then stairstepped it down. Helped with the initial soreness from lactic acid.

The only "suppliments" I take are nutritional ones. ... Multivitamin, flax seed pills, psyllium seed husk (fiber) and this shit called Ginko Biloba which is supposed to increase blood flow to your brain ...

I don't take, nor have I ever taken anything that is supposed to aid in muscle building or muscle recovery or anything like that, other than I eat a metrx protein bar immediatley after I get done lifting.

I used to take this stuff called "GNC Thermo Burst" ... it was one of those so-called 'thermogenic weight loss pills', but really all it was was an expensive caffine pill....but I stopped taking those altogether a few months ago. I tried Hydroxy cut like 5 years ago when it still had ephedra in it and it made me feel like I was gonna have a heart attack whenever I'd owrk out ....

I dunno, the problem with the thermo weight loss pills or whatever is that now that you can't get ephedra in them they are just overglamorized caffine pills, and caffine is addicting ... so once you go on them for a couple months, you literally have withdrawls when you go off them and have ZERO energy at all ...

I dunno .... I have kinda a mixed feeling about them because they do give you more energy but only if you like go a month on and a month off otherwise your body just gets used to it (addicted) and they don't do much for you after that ....

well, that would be why you take those things according to the Directions: on the back, which usually include a cycle on and cycle off that is recommended per the manufacturer.

There isn't a single printed word on any 'thermogenic weight loss suppliment' I have ever seen in my entire life about "cycling" them the same way people do with steroids and shit. It's a caffine pill .... that's about all it is.

Hate to break it to you folks, but the "increased size" due to creatine is really a side effect. Creatine is used by the muscles for more explosive power such as a 50 meter sprint. Creatine is not used to build the size of the muscle. The amount of creatine your body can hold is pre-determined by your biology, and you can take all the creatine powder you want, but the excess is just passed in your urine. Your muscles already contain creatine at all times, but taking creatine supplements may 'top off' the stores you already have. Unless you're only doing 1 rep max types of weight lifting, creatine will do you no good and is just a waste of money.

Also, creatine is not something you can just take before a workout....it takes time to absorb. If you want, I can explain more in-depth how creatine works in the ATP-> Energy system later.
