What sort of exercises would work best in a non-olympic-sized swimming pool? Like, the sort of swimming pool you'd typically find in an apartment complex, perse, supposing, as a hypothetical, doncha know?

hmm you could do that.
other than treading water, or buying a motorized wave maker, there's not a lot to do in a public pool that isn't long enough to do laps. -------------------- ![]() |

try doing "laps" where you only use your arms, or only use your legs to get you across. we used to do this in my lifeguarding class and even though the length of your pool isnt as long, itll still make for a really good workout, especially if you do several lengths without stopping.
this exercise is about power, not technique, so dont worry about proper form. just focus on keeping above water the whole time. -------------------- Forget regret

how deep is the pool? If its just a standard 5 ft pool, you could "jog" it. The water resistance would be good for a resistance workout.
On a different note, my foot is almost better and I am going to be taking up swimming again in the fall. Anyone interested? -------------------- Southern Rock, beer and bears!

go swimming, but instead of moving your arms put something heavy on them and move them up and down, and make sure the pool is drained and there is a bench there maybe
