I don't know if one is more important than the other (mental vs physical), but I do know there is a larger quantity of physical types in the world.

I do think that those that are mentally inclined need those who are physically inclined more so than the other way around. You can think up the road, the power lines, the sewage system, but who really builds it? You can invent the gun, but who has to carry it into combat? Who fends off the enemy theocracies that would want nothing more than to keep the intelligent from thinking?

The thing is, the physically inclined can get along in life just fine. They know what they know, and it's enough to keep them alive. Unfortunately, without the intelligent, you end up with a society that much resembles the dark ages. No new advancements. Deadly superstitions. Illiterate. The same traditions and way of life passed down from generation to generation. So I think both types are necessary for humanity.

I think that when you all think "physical" labor you're thinking menial tasks such as sweeping floors and mowing lawns and what have you ... You're all kind of forgetting the fact that most jobs that require more than light physical labor also pay a hell of a lot better than the more simple physical labor jobs ... for instance, working road contstruction ... usually they start at around $10 an hour or more.
But, the best example I can think of for a purley physical labor job that you all might find interesting would be working on a drilling rig. For instance, in Pinedale WY they are STARTING at $22 an hour for floor hands, and drillers are making $35 an hour. Why does this physical labor job pay more than a lotta "mental" desk jobs even? It's damn near like playing a contact sport. I wish like hell I could have done that this summer

And what I find interesting is, they can't find enough people to do these jobs ... They are desperate for good hard working people, and they can't find any.... So with all these so-called qualified and good employees who only make minimum wage....Why the FUCK don't they get off their asses and get a real job like this? It sure as hell ain't like they aren't trying to hire people...

They do go hand in hand. But for better or for worse, humans for centuries have rewarded those with mental skills more than those with primarily physical skills, with the exception of some athletes. Think of the Egyptians, for example. You had your ruling class, of course, but the next most prominent group were the priests. The physical laborers, the foundation of their society, were slaves. That's an extreme example, it's obviously not as bad now, but that's been the status quo for centuries, perhaps millenia.

im saying that both are equally important. mental capabilities are obviously more hard to come by so theoretically they should get paid more. however, that does not mean that the physical laborers should be paid like shit.

Youre the one missing the point. You said inflation is a direct result of higher wages. ok thats nice. I said...quite clearly i might add....that minimum wage hasnt increased in 10 years. Compare prices 10 years ago to prices today...big difference, right? So, while increasing minimum wage does in theory cause slight inflation, it would probably not be significant enough to really change much today, especially when you figure that a large majority of people already make above $6.50 an hour (which was the new minimum wage that I suggested). You can say all day long that increasing minimum wage is going to cause inflation, but its all in theory. No one can say for sure that inflation will in fact occur if you raise minimum wage slightly in order to make it more equivalent to the prices of goods today which have risen BECAUSE OF INFLATION OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST 10 YEARS THAT IS NOT RELATED TO THE INCREASE IN MINIMUM WAGE THAT OCCURRED in like 1996 or some shit. Theoretically, it could occur. However, the prices of goods are high because of oil costs and greedy business owners. OH NOES! They might have to pay their lowest paid employees more. THE WORLD IS GOING TO END. If you want to blame inflation on something, dont blame it on an increased minimum wage....blame it on oil prices and corporations, such as yours trully...walmart.
