I've done that here in Dallas. It's if you use a credit card... Not if your paying by cash. Maybe the guy should have used some common sense and entered his postal code (it would have worked).

yeah or just take out cash and use it! i mean really. common sense.

Who wants to carry cash while traveling in a foriegn country? I would think most places discourage it, and there would be a charge unless his bank had a branch in the states

Have you ever been to a foreign country?

It's better to take cash or even better travelers checks... You'd be surprised how often credit cards don't work in a foreign country.

ok, here's a plan. go to the ATM and take out money for gas...then go pay for you gas with that cash.

it's simple really.

Yeah. Most banks will reccommend that you take multiple forms of payment with you when traveling internationally.

watch your wallet or put your wallet in your underroos with cash in a foreign country. in some places its like oliver twist with the pick pockets yo. you can exchange currency in im pretty sure every bank and they have places specifically for currency exchange which i believe charge you less than a bank. then of course travelers checks but i have never used those, i am stupid, dont know how they work

I've never used travelers checks either.

15 countries...the majority of those are modern and safe enough to have a bank with an atm that disperses $ in their native currency.

for those less-palatable destinations, cash-american the only way to go...especially if you need to E&E.

the author had an anti-american chip before he ever stepped foot. can't REALLY blame him though. we're some pompous shits.
