I've never had problems with Nissan. Both of them ran perfect. All I ever had to do was change the oil.

QUOTE (Hartmann @ Jul 10 2006, 07:03 PM) Acura is owned by Honda correct? Audi is a subsidiary of VW, with separate groups for design and such. I have heard bad things about VW reliability as well. Audi's from what I've been able to find are still built in Germany and shipped over. I have a few friends with Subarus and they've had nothing but problems. I don't really need more power, trying to conserve as much gas as possible. I do like the idea of TDI but they're always sold out. But Honda has great reliability as Acura. What kind of problems were your friends having with Subarus? -------------------- Beers that I have had, updated July 5th, 2009: 1,548

Audi A4: ![]() Volvo S40: ![]() Acura TSX: ![]() As far as the Subarus go, my one friend had his transmission just go out on him about three weeks after purchasing it. The other friend had a seal on the oil pump spring a leak not two days after he bought his. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

audi a4...hands down
hey if terje collects them, hell yeah! I'm sure he's put them through the ringer in regards to utilizing the AWD. I've always wanted one. ________ someone mentioned nissans...dude opinions on looks aside, nissans are seriously one of the most reliable, well-made cars on the road. take a look around sometime and notice how many 1980's model pathfinders are still on the road. that's a testament right there. you don't see too many other "suvs" (not what they were called) from the 80's on the road unless they are someone's pet project moster truck bronco deal. but, if you're looking for something more high-end (it seems you are) than say the maxima, look into infinity. nissan quality, but smoother. I was in cali on business and rented some infinity 4 door...I have to look it up...but it was fuckin rad. drove like a banshee. and looked smooth too. |

Yeah, I thought about the Infinity G35, but if I bought it, I'd probably by a used one (significant price difference).

cool.
I have never bought a brand spakin new car. newest car I've bought was a two year old lease car. the leaser has to keep them in good condition and whatnot of pay bigtime penalties. my older brother is in the car business and suggests doing that. |

Yeah, the A4 that I am looking at is a loaner car. They have between 3-6k miles on them and they are certified by the dealership. They come with a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty and they are about $8,000 less than a brand new one.

Well, all car companies have a few cars like that. As for your friend with the tranny problem, I'm going to guess it was a manual tranmission. Ask anyone who knows something about cars, you have to drive a RWD car differently than a FWD car. Can you dump the clutch in a RWD or FWD car without really damaging anything? Yes. Can you dump the clutch in a AWD car without really damaging anything? Most likely not. -------------------- Beers that I have had, updated July 5th, 2009: 1,548
