Haha, true. Honestly, I rarely buy organic... I'd like to, but it's usually too damn expensive.

But basically, the way I look at it is... even if it tastes good, if it makes me feel like crap afterwards, then is it really worth it? Dairy may be tasty, but it's not worth the hours of hacking, coughing, wheezing afterwards because my lungs have filled up with phlegm. That steak from Outback may be tasty, but can I avoid kidney failure and dialysis in my 30's or 40's if I only eat half of it at dinner?

i take about half my food home for leftovers from almost every "sit down" restaurant i go to. if you don't eat a big juicy steak every now and then because you're thinking about kidney failure in your 30s or 40s i think you've got a different problem.

Umm... I have polycystic kidney disease and my nephrologist pretty much outright told me that I'd be on dialysis by 40 because it's pretty advanced for my age.

I do eat steak, I just don't eat the whole damn thing at once since that by itself would meet or exceed my daily protein limit (about 55 g).

Is that the formation of cysts in your kidneys? I am wondering how you got diagnosed of it. My main problem is that I have a hugh appetite. I know eathing smaller meals is good, but I usually eat everything I get my hands on

Yes it is. I was having bad abdominal pain reminiscient of pancreatitis and thought perhaps there were somehow still some gallstones in my system left over from my gallbladder removal. They did an abdominal ultrasound to look around and check and the tech discovered kidney cysts. Then they did a CAT scan on my abdomen to confirm the diagnosis.

Yes, but I think quality is improved by eating healthier foods. I stopped drinking soda and ended up losing weight and having more energy (and more money... lol). I stopped consuming dairy and no longer need asthma meds. If I eat a fresh salad or fruit I feel great, whereas I often feel bloated and ick after eating something heavy on the rice, pasta, meat, etc.

especially if its at a nice all you can eat place like Boi na Braza or Tokyo One. I've seriously gotten high off sushi and beef.
