QUOTE (nickluto @ Feb 27 2006, 01:38 PM)
i agree and it's an interesting point. Smith was supposed to be one of the more intelligent QB's as far as x's and o's and how the game works, reading defensese, learning the systems, etc and everyone thought he was going to do great things in San Fran.

they went, what this year...3-14? so intelligence definitely isnt as important as athletic ability. maybe he needs more time to "learn", but i didnt see anything standout as far as rookies go.

C'mon guys, typically rookies, especially at the quarterback position, don't do squat... so to say that Alex Smith is a bust or "not a standout" after him starting for less than a full season is short-sighted and altogether inaccurate. Ben Roethlisberger is far and away the exception, not the rule.

If you're just going to post for the sake of posting, pleeeeeeeease don't do it in Sports.

i never said that Aaron Rodgers or Smith was a bust. Troy Aikman went 1-15 his first season and he ended up in Canton.

i think they will be busts, though.

did you watch either in college?

Aaron Rodgers zones in on his intended receiver before he throws. he can't look off a receiver to save his life. that isn't a very good trait to have in the NFL.

as for Smith, i just don't like him. i don't think he has the capability to be a star qb in the NFL.

if these guys came out this year, they would be 4th and 5th on the qb depth chart. they benefitted from the fact that the 05 class was incredibly weak in terms of qb's. the Niners were desperate for a qb, as were the Packers

Can I grade him on this quote?

Some Reporter: Has USC ever faced a team like Texas?
Vince Young: They haven’t seen the different guys on our team who are gangster.

... cause I'll give him a C+

This test doesn't make or break him, but what a hillarious way to kill time until the draft.

I think Vince will go 3 or 7

I don't know how well he'll do in the NFL though, at least not right away

Reporter: When you see them on tv being hailed as one of the best college football teams in recent memory, how do you react to it? Does the media hype surrounding USC mentally affect you?

Vince Young: I dunno watchew be watching, but we watching B.E.T. We dont be watchin' no news television.

According to sportscenter he got a 16 on his test not a 6. Either way he's going to flop in the NFL, look at the way he throws the ball. Did anyone else see him do the skills competition? his accuracy and distance throwing sucked.

the 16 was the second time he took it, and the person of average intelligence scores at least a 20
