HEB owns all. HEB is actually high on my list of reasons to move back to Texas (Austin, specifically).

market street is what a typical grocery store outside of a little town should be like.
whole foods or central market are like the saks of groceries. you cant buy a 100lb cheese wheel from randalls yo much less ride ESCALATORS there

it wouldnt surprise me if whole foods had their own black market caravan of fancy fruit and tasties. if it exists in this world it is in their store. its a place for yuppies and hippies

Market Street doesn't suck, but HEB and Central Market (don't think I've ever been to Whole Foods) are SOOOOO much better.

i'm guessing there must be some fancier HEB you're referring to... I had a herbert e butts like 6 blocks from my house growing up and it had like 8 aisles and was no bigger than a walgreens.

i've heard of that central market place... supposedly they have one in houston somewhere? i'll have to go check it out next time i'm there.

if a better product exists then the inferior product is de facto lower quality

dude, you went to college?

I don't agree with that at all.

besides, "better product" in this case is a subjective term. (as well as pretty much any other case of your statement)

I don't care to buy a 100 lb cheese wheel or some $500 piece of fruit from africa, so a store that sells these is no better to me than a store that doesn't.

It's the newer ones that are nicest. I've been to ones in Waco, San Antonio, and Austin that were all uber-awesome.
