QUOTE (dauss @ Feb 27 2006, 10:01 PM) A friend told me that he was a few blocks away when it happened. Apparently there were some propane tanks flying in the air. Yeah, the fire department guy that was interviewed on the news said that they were finding propane tanks over half a mile away. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

My dad called this morning to tell me that they heard the explosion in Childress County...that's at least a two hour drive away. He must have damn good ears. I didn't hear a flippin' thing.

I heard it, but it didn't sound like an explosion. Sounded like a loud pop.

Earlier it was just a message. Now that I've talked to him, we have determined that it wasn't the propane explosion he heard but instead it was a sonic boom. Some military pilot was having some fun over my hometown...that or there was an emergency of some kind.
