dont CALL back, go in. Managers are too busy to take calls, but if you have taken time out of your schedule to go into the store, they will talk to you. I think I have gotten a job at every place I have gone into to talk to the managers

probably 500 or so ... a few years back when I was a college dropout, I wrote a program that scoured www.yellowpages.com for you and automatically parsed the pages that returned when you searched for a certain type of business in a given zip code ... it then recorded relevent data into a microsoft access database, which could then be imported into microsoft word to make mailing lables .... worked pretty fucking wonderfully. I was able to effectivley junk-mail my resume out to every single corporation I wanted to .... I had it automatically generating cover-letters and mailing labels, so literally all I had to do was print, fold, attatch business card, seal and send...

The most I ever did at once was 500, and of that 500 I probably got 5 responses, but I wound up getting what at the time was a pretty damned good paying job, so it was well worth it smile.gif

It was definitely more if you consider him re-submitting his application to some places. But that's water under the bridge... he has a good job now.

Ummm... well, I should graduate in December, so we'd probably be moving then for me to start a job in Jan. Still haven't gotten that fucking job app in the mail............

I'm now up to 17.

And yes, I call and follow up the next day or so. I just don't know how to keep being persistent without being annoying. I can only say "have you received my application?" so many times.

Problem is most places either already have their temp position filled or said we could have worked something out if I wasn't going back to school - guess it's not worth it to train me for two months...

Maybe it's time to apply at McDonald's after all sad.gif
