is there any more new info on the Wii?
like release dates? or more info on the hardware? I don't see a whole lot on the site, but kinda neat that you can play old nintendo games too (I wonder if that costs extra to download the games, and how many games you'd have access to). Also said on the site that the GPU is being developed with ATI... seems almost like that'd be a conflict of interest with ATI & Microsoft, but there's not any more detail on the site than: QUOTE Graphics Processing Unit: Being developed with ATI.

well Microsoft paid for all the R&D ATI did for the Xbox 360 graphics hardware. I couldn't imagine ATI not using at least similiar techniques in developing the Wii graphics hardware as well. So in the end you have Microsoft paying for R&D work that possibly ends up in a competitor's box.

From what i read on an article about Red Steel. There is an external sensor that is placed above or below your TV so all the movement info is transmitted to.

found this on IGN:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/711/711626p1.html QUOTE June 7, 2006 - During a Japanese marketing event held on Wednesday, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said that Wii's price and release date would be revealed by September. Nintendo has previously stated that Wii would "not exceed $250" and would be released in the "fourth quarter" of this year. More information as it becomes available. I'm guessing Christmas time. Especially if they're not releasing the release date (heh) until September. |
