I need some tips on minimizing being tracked with my cell phone. Like, really.

even if you turn your cell phone off it STILL communicates with the cell phone tower
if someone is using one of those cell phone tracking websites to trace where you're going the only way to stop it is to take the battery out of your cell phone |

there was also that nsa scandal awhile back about how the dumb ass nsa or cia agents stationed in italy used their real names for a flight cause they wanted the frequent flyer miles and forgot to take the batteries out of their cell phones so they got tracked by the italian gov

I quite like the battery idea. Just pop it in whenever I want to use it. Question, though. Do I still pick up missed calls with the battery popped out? As in, does it check for missed calls when it powers up or what?

Timbo Not in my experience... even when just turned off (battery in), my phones haven't picked up on missed calls. -------------------- |

i know you'll get your voicemail for sure, but I don't know if a log of your missed calls are stored on a central server somewhere or if they're unlogged and just sent directly to your phone whenever it's on
one way to find out though is to take the battery out and have a friend call you, then you can pop it back in and find out p.s. who's tracking you? did your employer sign up for one of those cell phone tracking programs? are you a terrorist? |
