Whoever leaked the score got it wrong and was, apparently, fired. When the news of Young's score first surfaced, the tests hadn't been graded yet. Young's correct score, from what I've heard, is more around 16... though it hasn't been released publicly yet.

id think being a good student is more important in the end. he could work his ass of in classes for all we know maybe he tries his hardest. nothing but admirable for that.

Yea, well a kid with downs syndrome that tries his hardest is still fucking retarded.

They have been reporting on ESPN Radio all morning that he got a 6 the first time around and a 16 when he took the test the second time. The test score is important because it is a QB's job to have good comprehension and retention, as well as problem solving skills. If a guy can't figure out a pattern like 8, 4, 2, 1/2, 1/4, ?? then chances are he can't read a complicated defense and adapt to it on the fly playing against 11 guys who are just as physically gifted as he is.

not so fast on these 3.

why is he hurting himself like this. first screwing up his IQ test (btw, 20 on the Wonderlic is seen to be average IQ.... a score of less than 10 is indicative of literacy problems....vince young has the brainpower of a 12 year old) and now he's refusing to work out at the combine...

these two things could hurt him, probably not but if you watched last year look what happened to Aaron Rogers. everyone thought he was top 10 for sure if not the #1 pick.

that being said, he probably wont drop out of the top 10, but damn, he's not making the smartest decisions and from what i hear its mostly his unexperienced AGENT that is making these decisions..

the only reason Rodgers dropped down so far is because the team with the #1 draft pick needed a qb in a year where the qb crop was relatively weak. he literally could have either gone #1 or #15, depending on which qb the Niners picked, and due to the fact that most other teams didn't need a qb. imo neither Rodgers nor Smith will do squat in the pros.

and i'm glad to see the uppity militant ut hater who starts whining any time texas or vince young is brought up has returned. welcome back, prefix.

true.

what i meant was just because the media says he will go #3 doesnt mean he will go #3.

Aaron Rodgers went so late because he got greedy and thought he could squeeze more money than he was worth out of the niners.

i agree and it's an interesting point. Smith was supposed to be one of the more intelligent QB's as far as x's and o's and how the game works, reading defensese, learning the systems, etc and everyone thought he was going to do great things in San Fran.

they went, what this year...3-14? so intelligence definitely isnt as important as athletic ability. maybe he needs more time to "learn", but i didnt see anything standout as far as rookies go.
