QUOTE (Rocky @ May 18 2006, 10:22 PM) Most people aren't happy with their body/metabolism no matter what. Super skinny dudes generally want at least some meat on them (or wish to be totally hulked out) and big guys want to be thin-ish. Meh ! I'd personally rather have to fight to lose weight rather than gain it. The discipline needed to lose seems much easier than to gain. I've known so many really thin guys who just couldn't gain a fuckin pound this although i think if i had enough discipline to gain the wegiht, it would be more likely to stay on than it were if i had to loose it. in other words, since i'd be putting on muscle, i'd think it'd be more inclined to stay there, at least moreso than compared to a person trying to stay skinny. -------------------- WAIT. i'm about 205 and could loose 10 lbs, think i'm about 11 % BF last time I checked, probably went up a bit though. Fasting slows your metabolism down, and most people actually gain weight in the time it takes the body to get used to the normal food intake. If you are trying it for weightloss, do a healthy spextrix diet, ground human flesh is awesome (or vegetables if you are pussing out)

QUOTE (Jyan @ May 18 2006, 07:23 PM) The real question, is why? I say if you're fasting you better have a damn good reason for doing it. Otherwise you're spitting in the face of what fasting is supposed to represent. Actually, I'm very healthy The fact that I'm healthy is probably the exact reason why I'm interested in trying fasting out. I hear it's a fine way to detoxify oneself, not that I'd have that many toxins in me, but I do smoke a box of cigars a day Timbo -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE (Divergent Reality @ May 18 2006, 10:44 PM) i am 130 and happy with my skinny ass. ive maascles enough. we should make a 130 club with zetec. and yeah to what rocky said. it's very difficult for me to gain weight, no matter what foods i eat, and how much i consume. i've never been overweight...but i'm inclined to believe it's much harder to gain than it is to lose (when you have a body like we do) -------------------- ![]() |

my metabolism is already shot. i MAY eat once a day, sometimes i will catch up and eat twice a day every 3-4 days. but i'm a huge guy. it's not so much the food i eat, its the lack of activity in my everyday life. a decent cardio and light ligting workout would do wonders for me.

Typically most of the people i know (including myself) fast for religious reasons....but it is typically only for a day or two, and you still eat after sunset (as long as its light stuff like soup and salad or crackers)

What the hell is a toxin? Ask a doctor. No such thing. There are toxic things. But there are no mysterious "toxins" in your body. Fat, chlorestorol, starches, stuff like that, yes. But no "toxins". Stop listening to Miss Cleo please. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

Zetec, the question isn't whether toxins exist in the body... alcohol, pesticides, nicotine, etc... those would all be considered toxins. The question is whether fasting really does anything to help eliminate those things or whether one's own organs (liver, kidney, etc.) do a good enough job of eliminating toxins from the body. I'm inclined to believe that, given a relatively healthy job, your own body does a just dandy job, but that fasting and other forms of detox can accelerate the process.
