Is there a best way to do it?
I s'pose the main questions would be, how long and what sort of stuff is ok for intake, if any? Timbo -------------------- ![]() |

Water and fresh fruit/veggie juices are commonly used. There's one fast I've heard of called the Master Cleanse (MC) that consists of drinking this lemonade made with fresh lemon juice, cayenne, and maple syrup (and water, duh).
If you're doing an extended fast, it's common to take a laxative tea or something similar to keep the bowels moving... not so important once you get further into the fast and haven't been consuming solid foods. This post has been edited by Spectatrix: May 18 2006, 07:20 PM -------------------- |

Oh yeah, as for length I've heard of anything from 1 day (usually just a water fast) to 30+ days (some combination of water/juice/MC/other).

The real question, is why?
I say if you're fasting you better have a damn good reason for doing it. Otherwise you're spitting in the face of what fasting is supposed to represent. -------------------- ![]() |

Fasting is often used to supposedly cleanse the body of impurities (detoxification).
Fasting will obviously reduce your metabolism during the fast, but it will recover as a person returns to eating solid food. -------------------- |

QUOTE (Jyan @ May 18 2006, 07:34 PM) does it also help to align your chakra? To clarify, I've never fasted (unless you count simply going without food until lunchtime... lol), I've just read/heard a lot about it. -------------------- |

Most people aren't happy with their body/metabolism no matter what. Super skinny dudes generally want at least some meat on them (or wish to be totally hulked out) and big guys want to be thin-ish.
Meh ! I'd personally rather have to fight to lose weight rather than gain it. The discipline needed to lose seems much easier than to gain. I've known so many really thin guys who just couldn't gain a fuckin pound -------------------- QUOTE (Lance) now we have some dude from argentina wondering how to fuck dogmeat |
