I know what those mean, but are you trying to argue in favor of or in opposition of national debt?

i knew you would, you're not stupid. i was just hoping to limit the amount of idiots trying to argue this topic so i wouldn't have to post that "arnold-fuck you-asshole" ytmnd again.

i'm personally in favor of the national debt, i refuse to depend on another nations "ethics" to not try to destroy america. i trust more in their concern for their wallet.

i'm not really wanting to get drawn into this topic, i just get tired of seeing the 3 page rant coming from people who have no clue what they are talking about.

the 3 page rant coming from people WHO ARE educated is fine, because then i might learn something more than a new clever way to insult one's maternal leniage.

I agree that national debt is not ALL bad... but I think 8 trillion is a bit excessive. In any case, I think free trade agreements is a better guarantee of a nation not fucking with us than us being in debt to them is.

And it's all fine and dandy when we have debt for the primary purpose of keeping people on a tight leash, but when we get into that debt because of misspending (as seems to be the case here), then I have a problem with it.

The national debt is a double edged sword. It helps the economy by reducing inflation, by keeping investors invested in the country, keeping money out of the economy, thus keeping the dollar strong. However, these investors have to get paid eventually. And by who? By the future America. Taxes go up, while the rich get even richer. So instead of America helping those in need with social programs; instead of helping America's future with educational financial aid; instead of improving America's infrastructure by increasing state funding, America's future has to pay these investors. And the truth is, Brandon, it's going to be you and people like you and me who suffer the most. The working class. The working class are going to pay for the rich, and even more so than they do now. And so I find it ironic that you strongly support this debt.

On the other hand, if you pay the debt down too quickly, we're going to be living in inflation city.

has it ever been any different through history?

i agree that the original idea of the national debt has been corrupted and wormholed, but the concept is sound, and that is what i strongly support. national debt does NOT = abuse of the poor. taxes abuse the poor, the government abuses the poor. explain to me a situation where a man gets rich WITHOUT taking advantage of the working class. you twisted logic a little bit to get a statement people would appeal too. history has always shown that "the rich get richer, and the poor have kids." that tends to be the way capitalism works. the choice is either suck it up, or get rich. that's the way it's always been. i agree that the corruption of the system should be stopped, the budget should be spent on more important issues, but that is not connected with the issue we are currently discussing.

i think its funny that he had the balls to say some of that stuff right in front of Bush, but i also think it was inappropriate/rude/disrespecftul, etc. You could tell most the audience felt uncomfortable by the lack of laughing and clapping. Just not the right time or place for that.

you could say it was the perfect time and place. it was televised and everyone you can possibly point out was sitting right there. it was satire and mockery and only a few times did he really put a burn out on someone

Bush got right up, shook his hand and told him good job. Laura didn't even hardly look at him... both did the right thing.

Ok ok, I don't get this... a lot of the comments in this are similar to those that Colbert made, yet THIS was favorably received by the audience whereas Colbert's performance wasn't. WHAT THE FUCK.

personally I think the whole thing was fucking bullshit.

The economy is as strong as it's been in a long time, which
convieniently the media NEVER reports on, they do everything they do everything they possibly can to bash bush.

Do you think of somone would have pulled this shit with clinton it would have gone unreported? Fuck no the guy would have been lambasted left and right!

Personally I wish Bush would have gotten up and slugged the fucking bastard.

How many time are we going to hear the "if Clinton was President" argument?
