Huh, ya know, that probably WILL help the immigration issue to some degree... even if not, I still applaud the legislation.

Ya know, I used to, but after having been a pothead's pothead, and then gotten my shit together and attempted to be a normal human being after that, all I can say is pot doesn't do ANYONE any good. I've never met a pothead who wasn't depressed, apathetic, completley non-motivated, or successful....musicians aside. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

As do I. But I don't really think that's the point anyway.
I really don't think it's an issue of how bad pot is so much as it is a question of whether it's feasible to keep it illegal. The vast majority of inmates in our prisons are drug offenders. And our prisons are overcrowded. I mean, if you go by the percentage of the population, we have more people in prison than any other country in the world. And this costs billions that we could be spending on the real cure for crime: education. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! QUOTE (Spectatrix @ Apr 29 2006, 01:09 PM) I agree. But at least potheads don't go out and try to drive when they're still high (usually). yeah they do, you just don't typically notice them because they're driving (possibly) better than you are studies in the UK (don't ask me for a source, i don't have it off hand) have shown that driving high is not only _VERY_ different than driving drunk, but that the drivers often act even more cautious than sober drivers. (The paranoia thing, remember?) The biggest problem most potheads have while driving is actually GOING the speed limit (i'm talking about them going under, not over), thinking every set of headlights behind them belongs to a cop car, and taking forever at the wendy's drive-through. As sad as it is, if there was one skill I ever had, it was being able to drive _very_ well while under the influence of marijuana. Truthfully, I can drive well under many substances, although alkyhawl has always been the second most difficult (although I've only attempted it twice, but I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon), with DXM being the most difficult that I've tried. hell, even driving on LSD was easier than driving drunk. (actually driving on acid may have been easier than driving high, depending on how much I took... I was rather surprised by that one) Yes, there are fools who can't drive well high, but these are the same people that I don't feel comfortable driving with when they're sober. btw, i was never depressed when I was a pothead, although the no motivation thing applies. I do know a few functioning, successful potheads, but i'll concede that they tend to be few and far between. edit: driving stick is a lot harder on acid though... I once had to ditch my car. But driving an auto is a-okie. (you just can't feel how open the clutch is, that's all.) This post has been edited by zetec: Apr 29 2006, 03:18 PM -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.
