I think I used plain old Bittorrent a while back and thought it sucked monkey balls -- absolutely killed my net speed. What are good torrent clients?

i used utorrent, it's extremely small and has a small memory footprint

it's supposed to be the best client out there, but it sucked huge ass donkey fucking balls for me, i think it's just cause the bitorrent protocol itself sucks huge ass donkey fucking balls though

in linux i use azureus and in windows i use utorrent

if your having problems with it bogging down your connection limit the upload and maybe the download speeds so it doesnt fully saturate your bandwidth

and pay attention to the number of seeders and leechers... the lower those numbers the slower the torrent will go...

Except that the last torrent thread hasn't been posted in for three weeks.

I did with Bitcomet and it helped some, but still got bogged down some (5 downloads). Now I've got one download going without it limited and it's fine. blink.gif

using bitcoment wll get you banned from a lot of trackers as bit comet used to ignore private tracker flags.

i suggest either azereus or utorrent. azereus has a very big (and very useful) plugin support and capabilites, and is configureable as fuck, whereas uTorrent has a small system footprint and is pretty much equally configureable. (azereus is much better at managing system resources since the latest release, however).

Also, bit torrent works best with a maximum of 3 torrents running at a time (usually). Not saying it won't work efficiently with more, but it could experience some slowdown.

WAIT. I'm not finished.
