how are we supposed to know if classes are cancelled if the damn govs office is closed for the day?

because a few years ago some students went home for the weekend and were trying to rush back late sunday to be back in time for class on monday and there was a huge car wreck... so its a travel day

If I were a professor I wouldn't expect many people to show up to class on Good Friday... I mean, by law, they have to allow people to not show up anyway since it is a religious holiday.
