Dream, For your entertainment Options

Maybe I should've put this in Entertainment instead? I don't remember my dreams much, maybe only one or two a year, so I find it odd when I do. Last night's dream was really weird.

I was with some family, I think, and we were waiting on my dad in some little diner. I decided to go ahead and order something cheap, so I got an egg, sausage, and cheese bagel. No, I've never had one of these in my life, but it was good in my dream. Then, I went to pay for it and they tried charging me $19 and I was like, "Huh?? It said $2.35 in the menu." Then they pulled out a menu and they showed me where it said you had to get the buffet with it as well. At this point, I was pretty upset as something didn't seem right, but I paid it anyway. A few secs later, I noticed a different looking menu on the table to my left, I went and got it and saw what I ordered. I was very angry at this point. They cheated me. I let them and everyone else in the diner hear about it. I remember these two old ladies saying "He's been up there forever. They're trying to cheat him." talking about me as I was standing at the cash register. Then I remember yelling at some other worker there across the diner after she told me to "Shhh." Think I said, "I won't be quiet until this is fixed." Then I stepped outside for a minute. It was really hot, but it was pouring down rain. Hard rain. And it was really dark outside, but I remember it being really hot. I quickly went back inside as it was kind of uncomfortable outside. I remember she was holding on to a baby when I went back inside and she asked me to sit down and wait. Haha. That just upset me more. I made the baby cry. I felt bad about that though I told the lady to just void my credit card receipt and I'll give her $4 and we'll call it square. Then I woke up.

That was a really weird dream that I have no explanation for The few others I've had in the past had some kind of reality to them, but this seemed too surreal. I wouldn't blow up at someone like that as it's not in my nature. I just keep it all inside so as to avoid confrontation. No restaurant would cheat their customers like that, certainly not some small town diner.

maybe there is some meaning behind your dream. subconsciously you are frustrated with some circumstance that has happened in your life, but the reality is that you did nothing about it. if you were waiting on your dad, it may have something to do with him. perhaps there is some fear of being screwed over.


then again, i dont know if dreams have meaning behind them. sometimes it makes sense though. *shrug*

Nah. I don't think it had anything to do with my dad. He was just a reason for us to be waiting in the first place and give me an opportunity to go ahead and order something cheap early. Kind of like how I was there with some of my family, but didn't really see them in the dream much. They were just a background, I guess. That and I think I have a good relationship with my father. Maybe not. Didn't even think about that one. Some of the other suggestions did cross my mind though..

I think Jessica is onto something with you feeling frustrated with something in your life. Maybe something with regards to your graduate program and how you're now switching to teaching?

Here's a strange one I had recently:

I am standing out in a wide yard full of dead animals, mostly deer. I walk towards a big wooded area, when slowly a bloody wolf approaching me, growling. I stare down at it, when suddenly, it lunges up and tries to bite my throat. At the same moment, a panther jumps up and attacks it, tearing it to threads. When the panther is finished, it looks at it and attempts to pounce; however, a bull appears and kicks the shit out of it. Before the bull can attack, I run inside. Inside I find two exact copies of my dog sitting on the couch and watching TV. They both look at me with the same freaky look, so I run into the kitchen, where a small mischevious boy with freaky red eyes is letting out a large ferret who goes and destroys everything in the kitchen.

Then the dream ends.

Well, freud would probably say that you feel as though you are putting too much into having sex and not getting enough in reward. But then again, freud was full of crap.

Personally, I'm more into the random neuron firing theory. I think you're reading too much into what was probably just some random thing your brain made up.

I still can't explain how my dreams are in total vivid color and contain so many things that don't exist or are unexplainable.

They say that my brain wants to exist somewhere else and it can do that when i sleep; they might be right.
