i'd say less than 25. 30 is too fast

I know, and the point I'm trying to make is that some peope slalom ski at twice that speed.

That's fine, but if you aren't in a competition you go a lot faster than that.

Like I said, I've personally slalom skiid at 50 mph ... When you cut the wake going that fast you're doing at least 60 too.

You can't even get a wakeboard up to near speeds like that because the width of the board causes it to float up and every single tiny wave in the water is gonna knock it off balance making it really unstable....

to a certain extent yes, you have to have some speed in order to keep the rope taut, but the faster you go the more succeptable you are to the "roughness" of the water ... a wakeboard is designed to float, which is why it's wide ... a ski on the other hand, you have to go faster on just to keep it afloat due to it's narrow nature....

yes. casual skiing on a slalom always hurt my back the most, from leaning back. wakeboarding hurts my knees more from landing, and hitting the wake being jarred into the air.

i agree here. it depends on the driving skill of whoever is behind the wheel, but with a sucky driver who doesnt know what they're doing, gettin up on a slolam ski can be painful; especially on your arms, abs, and back.

ive never really had any bad injuries riding on a wb, most of my knee/leg problems came from improperly executing progressive toe/heelside edging (just makes you sore from unneccesarily fighting the board) when I was learning to jump the wake. I didnt have anyone there to show me how to do it or explain it, i just used my imagination + a few internet articles, so that could be why. but i have suffered bruised ribs and pretty bad whiplash trying to be a badass under the influence from just hitting the water wrong.

anyway, both of those are pussy shit, INTERTUBING SEPARATES THE MEN FROM THE BOYZ! laugh.gif

one of the worse injuries ive seen on the lake was when a friend of mine was skiing for the first time on parallels and he somehow got one leg over the rope when he fell and the triangle grip was positioned between his legs and he was turned around backwards being dragged by his balls. later reports indicate that he had rope burn all over his sack and outlying areas! Id gladly take whiplash over sackburn
